India Walks for Health with Max Bupa

First of its kind multi city initiative makes Indians walk for a healthier future Walk flagged off in the city by Neha Dhupia and Pogo’s Chotta Bheem

New Delhi, November 04, 2012 :Max Bupa Walk for Health in three metropolises Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore saw enthusiastic participation by thousands of people in the three cities who pledged to incorporate more walking into their daily routine. In keeping with its philosophy of placing customer’s health first, Max Bupa Walk for Health is a one of its kind initiative aimed at encouraging people to walk more and bring about a positive and long term sustainable behavioural change in their lifestyle.

The five kilometre walk was flagged off Analjit Singh, Chairman, Max India, Manasije Mishra, Chief Executive (Designate), Max Bupa and popular actor Neha Dhupia. The two kilometre walk for children and senior citizens was flagged off by children’s favourite Pogo’s Chotta Bheem.

The walk held at Central Secretariat Sports Grounds in New Delhi was attended by well known celebrities, health enthusiasts, customers, agents, partners and employees of Max Group companies with their friends and family.

Manasije Mishra, Chief Executive (Designate), Max Bupa added, “ Through Max Bupa Walk for Health, our aim is to spread awareness about the importance of a healthy living by practising an exercise as simple and accessible as walking into daily lives.”

Expressing her belief in the initiative, Neha Dhupia said “Max Bupa Walk for Health is a significant initiative as health is our most important asset yet we tend to put it on the backburner. I try and include walking in my daily routine to keep fit, both physically and emotionally. I encourage each and every individual to walk, it’s easy and effective.”

The walk event was anchored by television actor Hussain who quizzed participants on their health quotient and kept them enthused and entertained. Special zumba dance session and health camps were organized for the participants at the sidelines of the event.

In addition to today’s multi city event across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, Max Bupa Walk for Health will also be held in November 2012 in the cities of Hyderabad and Kochi for people of all age groups. On October 27 and 28, 2012, the walks were organized in Chennai, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Surat and Pune.
